Aimed at: Individuals who would like to start a business but are not yet sure what type of business they would like to pursue. Also suitable for those with one or more broad business ideas that they would like to tease out further and assess their commercial viability.

Content: This one day workshop will involve the use of various tools and techniques including brain-storming, aptitude testing and many more that will help the participant to decide which business idea is most suitable for them.

Aimed at: Owner/managers of small businesses and those responsible for the marketing function within the business.
Course Objective: This seminar will address a range of taxation issues for start-up businesses. Topics covered include; basic principles of taxation, starting a business, tax compliance (payments & returns), allowances and tax relief, legal structures and cost of compliance.

Aimed at: Owner/managers of small businesses and payroll administrators within small businesses.

Content: This intensive one-day workshop will cover all aspects of payroll administration including; the PAYE & PRSI system, manual completion of tax deduction cards, completion of returns to Revenue, taxable and non-taxable pay, pensions and computerised payroll.

Venue: Meath CEB Offices

Aimed at: Owner/Managers of small businesses.

Course Objective: The workshop will provide tips and advice on managing your time more effectively. It will deal with managing workplace stress and will provide participants with a plan to minimise stress and maximise work output.

This programme is targeted at individuals who are already set up in business and have been in operation for at least one year. Following the programme, participants will be able to:
• understand the key principles of sales and marketing
• understand the appropriate market entry strategy for new markets (both domestic and export markets)
• apply the principles of persuasive communication in a commercial situation to win sales
• Manage key accounts
• Set realistic sales targets
• Identify the benefits of a solution that addresses the business needs of your customer.

This course offers a FETAC Level 6 Award and therefore as part of the accreditation process, you will be required to present a Marketing Plan for your business.

Aimed at: Those who are considering starting a new business or those who have been in business for less than eighteen months.
Course Objective: To provide those who are considering starting a business or those who have recently set up their own business with the necessary knowledge and tools. Topics to be covered include market research, legal issues, marketing, sales, book-keeping & taxation, people management, best practices and business planning. On completion of the course participants will have produced their own business plan.

Venue: Meath County Enterprise Board Offices

Aimed at: Graduates who have recently qualified (within the last 2 years) and who wish to consider self-employment while awaiting employment opportunities.

Venue: Kells Enterprise Centre, Kells Enterprise & Technology Park.

Aimed at: Owner/Managers and those who are in charge of the accounts/payroll function within a small business.

Course Objective: By the end of the course participants will understand the book-keeping cycle and the way to keep accounts. Acquire the knowledge and skills to record transactions in a manual accounts system and draw up daybooks. Participants will also be able to complete all necessary tax returns for their business.
