Aimed at: This seminar is aimed at people who wish to work from 5 - 9pm.

Course Objective: To help maximise the return on your business website for the purposes of conducting business outside of normal working hours (i.e. 9am - 5pm).

Aimed at: Owner/managers and those responsible for the finance function within the business, particularly, credit controllers.
Course Objective: To help participants understand the cash flow cycle. The course deals with the implications of poor cash flow, keys to healthy cash flow and will provide cash flow management tools. The essential steps to effective credit control will also be covered including opening new accounts, the role of the credit controller, the debt collection process and the legal process.

Venue: Meath County Enterprise Board Offices

This is a 4 month Management Development Programme geared at small businesses that have been operating for two years or more. The programme will address the following:

- Business Consolidation
- Streamlining Operating Procedures
- Strategy Planning
- Leadership and Change Management
- Financial Management

The programme will be delivered over a 4 month period with 5 full day wokrshops and 4 in-company visits per participating business. The course will also incorporate a residential weekend. The purpose of this weekend is to allow owner/managers to remove themselves from their business and to focus on creating a strategic plan for their business that will enable them to survive the current economic downturn. A number of role models in business will be on hand to share their experiences and to offer advice to participants.

Aimed at: Owner/managers of small businesses and payroll administrators within small businesses.

Content: This intensive one-day workshop will cover all aspects of payroll administration including; the PAYE & PRSI system, manual completion of tax deduction cards, completion of returns to Revenue, taxable and non-taxable pay, pensions and computerised payroll.

Venue: Meath CEB Offices

Aimed at: Owner/Managers and those who are in charge of the accounts/payroll function within a small business.

Course Objective: By the end of the course participants will understand the book-keeping cycle and the way to keep accounts. Acquire the knowledge and skills to record transactions in a manual accounts system and draw up daybooks. Participants will also be able to complete all necessary tax returns for their business.

This programme is targeted at individuals who are already set up in business and have been in operation for at least one year. Following the programme, participants will be able to:
• understand the key principles of sales and marketing
• understand the appropriate market entry strategy for new markets (both domestic and export markets)
• apply the principles of persuasive communication in a commercial situation to win sales
• Manage key accounts
• Set realistic sales targets
• Identify the benefits of a solution that addresses the business needs of your customer

Aimed at: Owner/managers and those responsible for marketing function within the business.

Course Objective: To give participants an understanding of how to maximise the return on a limited marketing budget. It deals with cold calling, advertising, on-line marketing and various other methods of promoting a small business on a low budget.

Aimed at: Individuals who would like to start a business but are not yet sure what type of business they would like to pursue. Also suitable for those with one or more broad business ideas that they would like to tease out further and assess their commercial viability.

Content: This one day workshop will involve the use of various tools and techniques including brain-storming, aptitude testing and many more that will help the participant to decide which business idea is most suitable for them.

Aimed at: Owner/managers of small businesses and those responsible for the marketing function within the business.
Course Objective: This seminar will address a range of taxation issues for start-up businesses. Topics covered include; basic principles of taxation, starting a business, tax compliance (payments & returns), allowances and tax relief, legal structures and cost of compliance.

Aimed at: Graduates who have recently qualified (within the last 2 years) and who wish to consider self-employment while awaiting employment opportunities.

Venue: Kells Enterprise Centre, Kells Enterprise & Technology Park.

Aimed at: Owner/managers of small businesses.

Content: All areas of tendering will be addressed throughout this workshop including where to find calls for tenders in your chosen business area, how to get included on tender lists and most importantly, how to respond to tenders in such a way that you are likely to win the contract.

Course Objective: The workshop will provide tips and advice on managing your time more effectively. It will deal with managing workplace stress and will provide participants with a plan to minimise stress and maximise work output.

Aimed at: Those who are considering starting a new business or those who have been in business for less than eighteen months.
Course Objective: To provide those who are considering starting a business or those who have recently set up their own business with the necessary knowledge and tools. Topics to be covered include market research, legal issues, marketing, sales, book-keeping & taxation, people management, best practices and business planning. On completion of the course participants will have produced their own business plan.

Designed to give start-up or potential start-up businesses the skills necessary to develop their business idea into a viable business. Topics covered include: sales and marketing, pricing, promotion, finance, cash flow planning, taxation, credit control, Health and Safety, recruitment, e-business and business planning.
